A Seasonal Miracle on Mt. Nishiyama

Every year, a quiet miracle unfolds in the skies above the Kii Peninsula. The Asagimadara (Chestnut Tiger Butterfly), a delicate creature with translucent blue wings, descends upon Mt. Nishiyama during its incredible journey. These butterflies are known to migrate over 2,000 kilometers across the ocean, traveling between Japan, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

This limited-edition eco-tour offers more than just a hike; it invites you to become part of their story. Depending on the season, you will participate in a hands-on conservation experience—either planting the flowers that fuel their journey or "marking" (tagging) butterflies to help researchers track their migration routes.

The adventure combines this unique citizen science with a scenic low-mountain hike, a panoramic bento lunch at the summit, and a rewarding soak in a seaside hot spring to finish the day.
